Application Process
Application processes differ between courses. To ascertain the application method you must use for your course, check the course details for the course you wish to apply for. Full course details for every course are available through our Course Finder.
This information is provided for Australian citizens and permanent residents only. International students should refer to the international student application process information.
Apply through Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)
VTAC applications are due by 30 September 2008. Late fees apply for all applications received after this date. See the VTAC Guide 2009 or the VTAC website for further information on late fees, the change of preference period and extra requirements for any course you are applying for. Offers are made via VTAC in mid-January. Check the VTAC Guide 2009 for exact dates. You can obtain a VTAC Guide 2009 from any newsagency or through the VTAC website from August 2008. Contact VTAC on 1300 364 133 for further information.
VTAC applicants should also check out our Information for VTAC Applicants section on this website.
Apply directly to William Angliss Institute
All applications for mid-year places and some February places must be made directly to the Institute using the Direct Application Form. The closing date for mid-year applications will be in May, but check our website closer to the time for the exact closing dates for each course.
When we receive your application, we will notify you (in writing) of your interview date. Download a Direct Application Form here (PDF, 86kb).
Interviews
If you're applying for a course through VTAC, you'll need to attend an interview session. Interview times are allocated according to your surname, as outlined in the table below. Interviews are conducted for all VTAC applicants on the dates specified in the tables below. Interviews for Hospitality, Tourism, Events, Business, Commercial Cookery and Patisserie courses, as well as combined courses in these areas, will be conducted by coordinators and teachers from relevant course areas, in groups of six to eight applicants. If you're applying for more than one of these courses, you will only need to attend one interview for all of them. Just make sure that you tick all of the relevant courses on your preselection form.
