Ecotourism
|
At William Angliss Institute, we believe that ecotourism is a form of tourism to natural areas that is ecological sustainable.
Ecotourism provides opportunities for travelers to experience natural areas in a way that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation. Ecotourism activities involve a high degree of interpretation-learning more about the natural and cultural heritage of an area is a key component of any ecotourism experience.
Australia's ecotourism industry is made up of some 3000 operators who are located in the outback, wet tropics, savannah lands, mountains, world heritage rain forests, reefs, bush and coastal region sites. The operators range from large scale resort operations such as the nature parks, small-scale owner-operated companies such as nature and bushwalking tour companies. Most operators manage accommodations, tours or attractions. |

| Employment opportunities for graduates exist in areas such as tour guiding, interpretation officers, seasonal rangers, project officers or adventure/group leaders. At the completion of the diploma, students who wish to further their study can articulate through to a degree program offered by Charles Sturt University in Albury.
