Food Science and Technology

There's never been a better time to join the food processing industry. Emerging markets in Asia are offering Australian companies huge export potential and governments are providing local food manufacturers with export support. This means there's a booming job market for skilled workers in Australia's largest manufacturing industry.

If you're after a technical position in the food processing industry, our program could be for you. Successful graduates can pursue roles such as production supervisor, laboratory assistant, quality control officer, assistant to production manager or research and development officer.

You will be trained in best practice in processing and storing foods safely to increase shelf-life and to retain colour, flavour and nutritional qualities. You'll also develop skills and knowledge in chemistry, biology, microbiology and applying quality control systems.
