Graduation, Certificates and Awards

Graduation

When you have successfully completed your course, a certificate will be issued to acknowledge that completion. It is your responsibility to make an application for the issuing of your certificate. You can obtain an application form from your program area's Student Management Centre (SMC). Certificates are only issued when you have completed the course you initially enrolled in, unless you formally apply to exit in writing with a lesser qualification.

The Institute conducts graduation and award ceremonies for both first and second semester of each academic year for students completing Diploma and Advanced Diploma levels of study for Hospitality, Tourism and Resort Management programs. A ceremony is held once a year for students successfully completing Certificate III and above for Food Industry program courses and the Angliss Culinary Academy. Specialised courses of study may conduct individual graduation ceremonies as required.

You should check to make sure that you have completed all of the course requirements before applying to graduate. Once a graduation application has been approved, an interim statement is available on request. You need to pay any outstanding fees or Library fines before graduation, or the issuing of statements or certificates.

Certificates

If you do not attend your graduation ceremony, you can collect your certificate from the Information Centre when you have been notified that it is available.

Awards

Awards for academic excellence are presented to students at graduation ceremonies, award nights or other special functions. Nominations for awards are made by teachers and are based on criteria that vary according to the subject. Many of these awards are supported by industry and confirm their recognition of William Angliss Institute. For details of specific awards in your program contact your senior educator.
