What is the Angliss Global Network?

The Angliss Global Network is William Angliss Institute's alumni. Its mission is to:

  • establish a vibrant community, providing networking opportunities and promoting knowledge and skill development of members
  • strengthen relationships between the Institute and its alumni and friends within the hospitality, tourism and foods industries and wider community.

One of the networks key initiatives is the development of an innovative professional development program and networking opportunities (a critical component of an individual's career management within the hospitality, tourism and culinary art industries).

 

Who is in the network?

Membership to the network is free of charge and open to current students, former students and graduates, staff (both former and current) and industry professionals from the hospitality, tourism and culinary arts industries. Those who have an interest and desire to support these industries and the Institute are also encouraged to join.

The network is rapidly growing and currently has in excess of 2700 members, residing in more than 30 countries around the world.

The Angliss Global Network provides tangible benefits not only for current and past students but also to industry practitioners with many years of work experience.

How can I join the Network?

Simply fill out the online application or contact the Angliss Global Network office on (+61 3) 9606 2146 or globalnet@angliss.vic.edu.au. Alternatively you can fax a copy of your completed form to (+61 3) 9670 5175 or post it to Angliss Global Network, William Angliss Institute, 555 La Trobe Street, Melbourne, Victoria, 3000. 


Can I invite a friend to become a member of the Angliss Global Network?

Absolutely!  If you know of other past students, graduates or industry professionals who can benefit from becoming a member please encourage them to join.


Is there a fee to join the Angliss Global Network?

No, membership to the network is free of charge.


I've lost my membership details and I want to login to CareerHub, what should I do?

If you don't have your membership details on hand and you need to access our online service (CareerHub), just contact the friendly Angliss Global Network team on (+61 3) 9606 2146 or email globalnet@angliss.vic.edu.au. You will need to provide your full name together with your address and contact phone number. An email address is also required if available.

 

How do I update my membership details/contact information?

You need to access our online service (CareerHub). You will be asked for your member login and password.  Once in the system you are able to update your profile and contact information in "My Details", on the left hand side of the screen.  This will enable you to keep your record up to date and change your access password.

Or you can email us at globalnet@angliss.vic.edu.au or call us on (+61 3) 9606 2146 with your new details and we can update this for you.

 

I have lost my membership card.  Can a replacement be issued?

Most definitely.  Email us at globalnet@angliss.vic.edu.au or call us on (+61 3) 9606 2146.

 

How do I advertise a job?

Simply complete the Careers and Employment form and send this back to us or online at CareerrHub.

1. Go to the top left and click on Register on CareerHub
2. Complete your employer details.
3. You will need to choose a username and password to login in future.

Once you submit this registration, you will have to wait for it to be approved by one of our staff. Once this is done, you can add a job(s) and it will go live on the site once we approve it (this will take less than 24 hours).

Jobs can be advertised to both current students and members of the Angliss Global Network, including graduates and industry professionals. There is no cost to advertise jobs through this service.

 

How can I contact a classmate?

Provide the Angliss Global Network Office with the full name, program/course and completion year of the person you are trying to contact and we will check our database for current contact information. Although we cannot directly disclose a person's contact details (in compliance with privacy laws) we can forward a letter or email on your behalf. Can alumni/graduates use the William Angliss Institute Careers and Employment service?

New graduates, i.e. within two years of graduation, are eligible for careers counselling, attendance at the annual Careers Expo and career education programs to help their career development and preparation. These services assist new graduates to refine job applications, prepare for interviews and enhance their job search strategies.

All Angliss Global Network members have access to job vacancy listings via the online service, Career Hub.  

 

Can a member transfer their membership benefits to another person?

Angliss Global Network membership benefits are only extended to current Angliss Global Network members.  In most circumstances the member must show their Angliss Global Network membership card to be eligible for the discount.  If you have family or friends who would also like access to the range of benefits on offer, invite them to become a member of the network.

 

I am interested in being a guest speaker, mentor or sponsoring an event, award, scholarship or something similar.  Who do I talk to?

Where is the Angliss Global Network office located?

Our office is located on Level 1, Building C at William Angliss Institute.  You can find us just off the student recreation lounge.  Feel free to pop in and visit us.  Our office is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
